European Roulette
The word roulette means little wheel in French and therefore the base of the game should be from France. Although many casino games do no have a origin or is not clear when it was invented, roulette clearly had a origin in France. It was in the 17th Century, when the famous mathematician Blaise Pascal invented a wheel, much lighter version of the todays roulette. It was then Francois and Louis Blanc who invented the game with a single zero. But then the french had the law against gambling and therefor the game was taken to Germany.

Francois Blanc was the first to set up a casino at Monte Carlo and bought the roulette to the European community. There is also a myth story about Francois Blanc saying that he sold a soul to the devil to get the secracy of the roulette game. And it was also said that, it was the reason for the game to have the numbers '666' by adding up the numbers. 666 is considered to be the number of the beasts.

American Roulette
American roulette was introduced in the early 19th century and the americans added an additional zero to the game to increase the odds of the house. The base strategy lies on placing the bet on the roulette table only. There is no strategy involved in spinning the wheel or where the ball stops. Its all done by pure luck or chance. A roulette wheel in the United States features thirty eight compartments with different numbers: this consists of the numbers one to thirty six, zero and a double zero. American roulette has a double zero and the European roulette has a single zero thereby increasing the odds of the players. If you decide to play at an online casino you will usually have a choice of which type of wheel you would like to play with. If you're at a French casino en ligne such as Golden Tiger Casino you will most likely play with the European wheel but if you play a another casino such as Casino Action you might use the American wheel.

Overall, the roulette table cannot be beaten as it is pure luck and chance.
All you can do it bet on the red entirely or try different betting strategies to get a taste of the roulette game. If you get enough of roulette, you can always try other online casino spiele as well.
